This was designed to depict an angel singing down to the shepherds, with the starry, magical foliage depicting a shaft of heaven glancing down to earth ... But it might also be Mary, looking down at her newborn child, with the leaves and branches perhaps representing the Jesse Tree of Christ's ancestry, or the rustic setting of the stable with the glow-worms dancing in the twilight?

Full description
Is it an angel or Mary who looks down through the interweaving foliage to breathe, Rejoice! at the mystery of the Incarnation? This card co-ordinates with my other designs 'The Word', 'Contemporary Nativity', 'Angels' and 'Magnificat'.
My original ink drawing is reproduced on coloured card then gold and white gouache highlights are added by hand. I print onto a wide range of coloured cards: please specify if you have a preference and I will find one as close as I can. Cards are A6 (approximately 6x4 inches) and contain the message 'Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year'. Each card comes with an envelope and protected in a clear poly packet.
