The farm I used for this illustration is in the Yorkshire Dales of England, and although I sketched it in summer, it was easy to imagine the hills white with snow. We'd walked over the way the sledgers are going, past the farm, and made the steep climb to the viewpoint. Hundreds of little incidents of human relationship, like our family walk, must have taken place at that farm over the centuries. So it's an image full of stories, and it's my best seller.

Full description
Bleak yet beautiful, cold yet festive: snow fallen, berries red, thrushes singing. The sheep are being gathered into the fold, while the children have scattered into the fields to go sledging and build snowmen. The little children are excited at the prospect of getting the huge Christmas tree inside to decorate. The hungry white hare on the hill wistfully watches the chickens being fed.
Cards are digitally printed from my original india-ink and watercolor illustration. Cards are A6 (approximately 6x4 inches) with the message inside, 'Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year'. Each card comes with an envelopes and protected in a clear poly packet.
