Item details

A thaumatrope was a popular Victorian toy- an image is printed on each side, and when the strings are twirled, they combine to form one image. A whimsical optical illusion of yesteryear will amuse and delight you and your friends. It's what they used to do before tellies, you know.
Oh, and there was one on that film, 'Sleepy Hollow'. Johnny Depp. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Sorry! What was I saying. This one looks a lot like the sleepy hollow one, I didn't really realise how much so till I watched it again this Halloween. Except this one isn't flying. I didn't want it to hit the bars.

Important stuff: My screenprints are hand printed and hand registered by eye and unlike computer generated images are subject to slight variations that make each a unique piece of art.

Inspiration: JOHNNY DEPP. I mean, sleepy hollow. (I love you Johnny)

Process: A 3.75 inch mountboard (very thick! Not flimsy and prone to warping this) circle has been lovingly distressed and printed. one side has a bird, the other a birdcage. Cage that bird.

Makes a lovely gift sleepy hollow, depp loving friends. Or the girl. What was her name? Winona Ryder? I don't care, she doesn't interest me. Hang it on a wall; post it to a friend, it's better than a card because you can twirl it all year round. Don't forget to see my other parlour games.

Materials: Super thick mountboard and fade resistant ink mean this is going to be around for a while. Hand painted red by me after screen printing.
