Inspiration: On one side is Alice, on the other is the Cheshire cat in a tree. When you spin it, they combine and the Cheshire cat spontaneously emerges on the tree! Just like in the book. How clever is that?
Process: A 3.75 inch mountboard (very thick! Not flimsy and prone to warping this) circle has been lovingly distressed and printed. All hail Alice!
Makes a lovely gift for Wonderland (and cat) loving friends. Hang it on a wall; post it to a friend, it's better than a card because you can twirl it all year round. Don't forget to see my other parlour games.
Materials: Super thick mountboard and fade resistant ink mean this is going to be around for a while.

A thaumatrope was a popular Victorian toy- an image is printed on each side, and when the strings are twirled, they combine to form one image.A whimsical optical illusion of yesteryear will amuse and delight you and your friends. It's what they used to do before tellies, you know. Oh, and there was one on that film, 'Sleepy Hollow'. Johnny Depp. Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Sorry! What was I saying. This one features Alice, and the Cheshire cat, not Johnny.
Important stuff: My thaumatropes are hand printed and hand registered by eye and unlike computer generated images are subject to slight variations that make each a unique piece of art.
