Autumn walks among trees, leaves and fungi inspired this hanging.

Full description
A cascade of autumn leaves, hand-knitted in a variety of yarns, carefully chosen for their colour and texture, enfold three embroidered panels. The hanging is accented with tiny acorns, sycamore seeds and bright red toadstools - stitched in felt and hand embroidered.
A total of 21 leaves have been hand-knitted, stitched to coordinating backing felt, and arranged on a 'web' of handmade cords. Leaf stems have been added in crochet. Michaelmas daisies have been embroidered in tapestry wools onto a knitted oval panel near the top of the design. This panel has been framed with crochet in a cotton thread. In the centre of the hanging, an autumnal scene of ploughed fields, autumn trees and tiny toadstools has been embroidered onto hand made felt and framed with a wood ring. Dahlias have been embroidered onto a mohair panel towards the end of the hanging. Tiny felt acorns, sycamore seeds and toadstools have been arranged to add further interest.
The leafy cascade has been stitched to a wool binding round a length of dowel - hanging thread is tied to the dowel.
