Another very unusual necklace combines jewellery making with crochet; the result is just gorgeous, though quite labour-intensive! I've called it Contrasts because it uses dainty wire and tiny Swarovski crystals, against big chunks of river shell. The crystals are much more visible when the necklace is worn, as they catch the light well - I know they can only be seen in the close-ups here.
The wire is silver plated and very fine, worked into loops and chains (as well as the usual doubles and trebles of crochet). These chains have tiny lilac Swarovski crystals worked into them, and really chunky random shaped pieces of river shell have been crocheted into the graduated loops.The swags are bigger towards the front, giving the whole thing a focus. The shell pieces are deep purple with hints of blue and grey in them. and are all different. which is why I've put up close up shots. The whole necklace measures approximately 19"/48cm and fastens with a Tibet silver toggle clasp.
It is a very light and airy feeling necklace, potentially very elegant with a little black number. Earrings and bracelet/anklet to match are available on request - I'll make and put them up as a custom order if you'd like some.
The necklace will be carefully wrapped and will be sent with an organza gift bag. UK P&P is included in the price.
