My nana Hannah and her generation, who survived the war-years, making do and mending, breathing new life into what they had to hand could teach us a thing or two about austerity. I inherited her thrifty ways and her button collection. So with a personal denim mountain that would rival a Texan cowboy’s and a whole bunch of materials I couldn’t bring myself to part with, I created ‘Hannah’s Buttons’.

A colourful and inexpensive way to add a little spring-time joy to an outfit!
I’ve created these decorative brooches to my own design, from double backed denim using layers of eye-catching material with a mixture of buttons some of which date back to c1940s. Each petal is cut by hand, layered, and then secured with a jewel of a button. The brooch fixing is sewn onto a double denim mount, and then glued in place.
The Hannah's Button shown in the image is available - if you want it it's yours (for a modest fee!). Other styles available - please see my other listings.
Dimensions: 7cm x 10cm
Care instructions: avoid getting wet, but if washed, dry out completely, then iron petals avoiding button.
