Hello you...

I'm Ailsa. I am a textile and surface pattern designer. Many moons ago I worked in the brand design industry after finishing my History of Design degree at Manchester Metropolitan University and an Art Foundation at Cambridge College of Art and Technology.
I'm into my 40s and I now live in Poole, Dorset and work from a rescued 1950's beach hut at the bottom of my garden. I share my life and space with my husband who works for the RNLI and a couple of kids and cats, who rattle around the place, stealing my art equipment (kids) and sitting in my scrap fabric baskets (cats). I am also a Visiting Tutor at Arts University Bournemouth, teaching Pattern and Printing on their short course programme which is an absolute joy.

I find inspiration in quirky and unexpected places and love to combine strong, bold colours. My products are made with genuine sense of love and pride. The quality of my products is hugely important to me. I strive for a quality of design and product that makes the heart leap and puts a smile on a face when the tissue paper is unwrapped. If it's not, let me know and I'll move heaven earth to put it right.
