Herdwick sheep are a hardy breed native to the Lake District where approx. 99% of Herdwicks remain. The lambs are born black and as they mature their fleeces change colour showing amazing natural tones of black, brown and silver grey...just gorgeous. Beatrix Potter loved her Herdwicks and was committed in her conservation work to save the breed. I am passionate about British wool, it's such an amazing fibre and I particularly love the stunning colours and versatility of the Herdwick, hope you like it too!
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
Hand crafted beautiful little Herdwick sheep carefully presented in a recycled board gift box adorned with the magical wild hare logo. Hand made by needlefelting Herdwick and Jacob fleece from Cumbria. The needlefelting process is quite time consuming but enjoyable and allows you to sculpt the wool fibres to form such interesting and unique characters. All a reminder of the beauty and wildness of nature. The little Herdwick measures approx. 5 inches in length and 4 inches tall. This item is made to order, please allow 3 days for making the sheep.
