This painting was inspired after a visit to Flatford Mill in Essex, the site of Constables 'The Haywain'. We had a lovely day wandering through the meadows and footpaths surrounding the Mill, I wanted to capture the tranquil relaxed feeling that I had.
I painted this canvas using acrylic paints, with brushes and palette knives, building up the layers and scratching to describe the flower stems and grasses. The distant outline of buildings leads you in, I can imagine walking through the fields to see if there is a pub!

Full description
This is an original Acrylic painting on canvas of a wildflower meadow with a village in the distance. It measures approximately 9" x 12" (23cm x 30cm) and was painted using Daler Rowney Artists acrylic paints. It is approximately 1/2" deep and I have continued the painting around the edges so it is pleasing to view from the sides as well.
The canvas has 2 D rings attached to the rear and is strung ready for hanging. It will be despatched by first class recorded delivery post.
