This painting was inspired by a field of sunflowers that was growing at my local RHS garden, Hyde Hall, last year. It is the first in a series of paintings that I did exploring the centres of the flowers, I find all those little seeds fascinating.
I let the paint pour down the paper, the various colours mingled together on the way creating some marvellous 'cauliflowers' and the addition of glitter heightened the sense of the sun which was shining that day. Oil pastel completed the painting.

Full description
This is a large original watercolour painting of an abstract sunflower with the addition of glitter and oil pastel. It is painted on Hahnemuhle watercolour paper with Daler Rowney artists watercolours.
It measures approximately 12" x 16" (30cm x 41cm) and is presented in a 16" x 20" mount. It has a backing board and clear cellophane art bag for protection.
All my work is posted by first class recorded delivery.
