I wanted to design an unusual scarf which would be fun to wear and fun to create.

As I love to crochet, I got my hook and yarn out and set about my design.

My love of spirals and twists made me come up with the idea of trying to crochet a twisted design.

I made a number of experimental crochet twists and when I put them all together I thought they would make great tentacles for an octopus.

I then set about designing the head. I wanted it to be quite small and soft so it would be comfortable when worn around the neck. I had been making crochet toys so I had some toy eyes spare. I thought they would be fun as my octopus' eyes.

I was very pleased with my finished octopus scarf design and even happier when my friend Marion who owns my local wool shop agreed to display and sell them for me in her shop window :-)

Heads are sure to turn when you wear one of my amazing octopus scarves.

I have created this one in LIME GREEN.

This scarf is my very own design and creation based on the Japanese crochet style of AMIGURUMI

You can wear it, play with it as a toy or just hang it up in your room as a fun decoration... the twisty tentacles are extremely tactile.

I have used 100% acrylic yarn in lime green

( carefully hand wash at a low temperature )

The head is a crocheted ball filled with polyester soft toy stuffing and there is a tie at the top for fastening around the 8 springy spiralling tentacles.

I've used safety eyes ( suitable for over 3 years )

There are small contrasting acrylic pony beads at the end of the ties.

Approx length is 30 - 35 inches
