Life has rather caught up with me at the moment and there hasn’t been time to create as much as I’d like. I’m working on some new pieces at the moment and will post them as soon as they are available.
I have my own beautiful grumpy tabby cat, but this one was based on my brother's mighty cat who lived to the grand age of 20.

About the suncatcher
A striped, but certainly not cheshire cat, hand made by me from bright pieces of coloured glass. The cat is painted on to a milky, creamy coloured glass that is slightly opaque. The contrast between the dark paint and coloured glass really comes alive in the sunlight.
The cat and borders are created by painting the glass all over then using sharp sticks to cut and scratch the patterns. The scratched glass paint is then kiln fired to keep everything permanent. The pieces are joined using soldered copper foil and there is a small silver wire loop for hanging. The glass I use often has interesting tiny bubbles and ripples that create textures and these are part of the nature of the glass.
Because the piece is hand made, like the creatures themselves, every one is unique.

Further information
The soldering is lead and therefore, the piece is for decoration only and should not be placed where young children may handle or play with it.
