I was brought up on a farm in Dumfries and Galloway - we have cows, sheep and horses (the standard farm animals really). We also have hens too which are so free range that they roam happily around the farm (don’t worry - they sleep on the barn rafters at night so avoid being munched by foxes). This hen liberation does however result in egg hunts being more like expeditions, but there truly is nothing more satisfying than finding a tonne of eggs in the straw bales. x
