Full description
This textile brooch, on a felt backing, features a lovely summer, seaside theme of a lighthouse, beyond the beach, felted and hand- embroidered.
The background for this design has been created by felting lengths of knitting yarns onto a background of Kunin felt ( manufactured from recycled plastic bottles) using an embellisher machine. The lighthouse, marram grass, yellow poppies and sea pinks have been added by hand embroidery using crochet cottons and wools.
The brooch is edged in blanket stitch in matching crochet cottons. It is reinforced by a layer of heavy interfacing. The back of the brooch is neatened by a second layer of Kunin felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Height : 8 cm approx
Items of embroidered jewelry may not be entirely colourfast and care should be taken that jewellery items do not get wet in use in case colour should be transferred to items of clothing.
