Full description
I made the prototype of these jars years ago to keep my wife’s onions under control in our cottage kitchen. Most people don’t get their onions in a string and the alternative is some kind of container and this was my solution. It could also be used for potatoes, if you don’t use a lot, or garlic, if you use far too much! It is made from stoneware pottery fired in a gas kiln. The glaze uses wood ash as a main constituent, which provides a lively and variable surface. Size approximately 25cmx20cm.
