Fragments of cotton fabric, some recycled other pieces scraps from dressmaking or patchwork projects, have been combined in a 'crazy patchwork design' onto a kunin felt background using an embellisher machine to create this textile brooch .
Chosen for their pastel tones, the fabric scraps in shades of pale blue have been bonded to a felt background using an embellisher machine. Pieces have been torn to shape to avoid the sharp edges produced by scissors and to begin the fraying process, accentuated by the machine. The 'patchworked' cover has then been embroidered using simple hand stitching. A fine ivory crochet cotton has been used throughout to emphasize the 'vintage' feel of the design - the cotton is about 30 years old and so almost 'vintage' in itself. The kunin felt used for the background is eco-friendly - produced from the recycling of plastic bottles - a pale brown colour has been chosen to emphasize the small gaps in the 'patchwork, and reinforce the vintage feel of this piece.
Height - 5.5 cm approx.
This item ships anywhere in Europe for the rate quoted for France. I am afraid that there are too many countries to list them all separately. Please message me before purchase for other European destinations and I will be happy to amend the listing.
Avoid getting wet.
The back of the brooch is neatened with a second layer of felt and a brooch pin securely stiched in place.
