I've always loved wire work and chain maille, and after working with wire and beads on my stained glass work (see Raven's Stained Glass, also on Folksy) going into jewellery making was almost a natural progression for me.
Nevar is my new venture, born from that progression.

According to Celtic belief the Tree of Life is the best way to symbolise the balance and harmony observed in nature. The Tree of Life is believed to be an entity which connects the lower and upper worlds, the branches reaching to heaven and the roots with the lower world while the trunk is on the plane of the earth. The Tree Of Life is believed to represent virtues such as strength, beauty, wisdom, protection, bounty and redemption.
Peridot, also known as the 'evening emerald' is the birthstone for those born during August and would be a beautiful gift for a friend or loved one born in that month. The light green of Peridot stands for truth, love, power, influence, faithfullness, loyalty, dignity and protection. This stone is believed to to help with lungs, lymph, breast and sinus related health problems. Peridot's are believed to bring about growth, prosperity, and openness..
This beautiful piece was made by first coiling 0.3mm wire, which was then coiled into a spiral. The circular frame was formed from the length of spiralled wire before the 'branches' of the tree were attached. The gemstone nuggets were added and the Tree Of Life formed. The pendant itself measures about 3cm across, or about 1.25 inches. The piece is hung from a 16 inch silver plated snake chain and is presented in a beautiful silver grey gift box.
