This pattern would make a great weekend project, to create a beautiful shaker hearts design table runner. I love texture and I love geometric patterns and this design brings both creating a pretty textured feature for your living room or dining room tables.
The beauty of a table runner is it creates a focal point on your table without obscuring the inherent beauty of the wood.
This is a fairly straightforward pattern suitable for anyone who has mastered the basics of knitting and can follow a chart. It can be made as long or as short as you like, I completed a design to fit our coffee table at home, but it can be used to create a long centrepiece to your dining table.
It will knit up fairly quickly on 5.5mm needles using an aran weight yarn.
