I am delighted to introduce this little springtime songstress, Arietta!
Arietta is a very beautiful bird in bold shades of pink and green with tiny dashes of yellow ochre. Her colourful upper body is made from a vintage curtain remnant of either linen or a strong cotton. I have given Arietta an ivory felt breast. Her wings are combination of the two fabrics with decorative pink stiches. Arietta has a tan wool felt a beak and tiny seed bead eyes mounted on little circles of ivory felt.
Arietta is perfect just as she is, but as she proclaims the first day of spring I have made her a halo garland with a series of stylised felt flowers in bright pink and ivory with tiny bead centres. The flowers are interspersed with sage green leaves. The garland itself is made from a crocheted loop of jute twine and is not attached. It can therefore be easily removed if you so wish. Please refer to the last photo to see Arietta without her halo!
Standing on re-purposed copper wire legs and stuffed full of polyester toy filling, Arietta would make a unique springtime decoration and a year round friend!
Post is first class and I use a much reclaimed packaging as possible to minimise cost and waste.
