I was on a school trip to the British Museum years ago, I saw the hentakoi sculptures, and I just thought they were wonderful! So I drew them.

Full description
Hentakoi are beautiful and strange creature-like totems built by the shamen of the Nicobar Islands. Some of them are smiling, some are flying, and some are waving hello. They were originally made to ward off bad spirits and bring good luck. You can see some collected together in the British Museum in London, or you can see some I have drawn and painted, in this zine.
Each zine is printed on thick recycled cartridge paper, and measures 10.5 x 15cm. There are 22 pages, each one showing a full colour illustration, except for 2 which are black and white. The original illustrations were made using crayon, ink and pencil, and drawn on location.
