I am a firm campaigner for British, hand crafted goods, and I always try to source gifts and things for my home from fellow crafters! Quirky, handmade things all the way!!
I make my ceramics using hand building techniques, particularly ‘slabbing’ where you roll out clay (kind of like pastry) and then use it to make all sorts of things. There is almost no end to the things which you can create with clay, it is just so versatile. Glazing is always exciting, as you never know what effects will have taken place each time you open the kiln!
I try to make items to suit all budgets, and just LOVE making ceramics. I usually try to make items which are usable as well as nice to look at!

This delightful chappie was made in my own studio in Bristol, and is my own design. It was made by rolling out a slab of clay, rolling a hand-made foam owl indenter over it, and then cutting it into an owl shape. The owl was then left to dry and fired to 980C.
After leaving the kiln to cool the owl was unpacked and I then hand painted the wings, feather and eye details, using red and grey glazes, I then dipped the whole thing into a clear gloss glaze. It was then fired again, this time to 1220C.
The clock takes an AA battery (not supplied)
It is approx. 15.5cm tall, and 13cm wide.
Clay has a habit of warping whilst drying and in the kiln, so everything I make has its own unique shape.
I send the hands un-attached with instructions about how to fix them on, this is for ease of postage.
My folksy shop has many more unique items for sale, please feel free to browse!
I can make these clocks to order in any colour. Please message me for details.
