'For as long as there have been humans we have searched for our place in the cosmos. Where are we? Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.
This perspective is a courageous continuation of our penchant for constructing and testing mental models of the skies; the Sun as a red-hot stone, the stars as a celestial flame, the galaxy as the backbone of night.'
- Carl Sagan

Full description
A small (A5), handbound, hardback book that contains a galaxy worth of stars within it! A visual metaphor to help the reader comprehend just how vast the galaxy is, and where are our own solar system fits in the bigger picture.
In amongst all the dots that represent the stars of the Milky Way can you find the one yellow dot that represents our sun? I randomly insert it in every copy, so each copy of Via Lactea is unique.
approx. H x W: 210mm x 152mm
(I usually produce my books in batches of five or six, if there are none available now there will be more available soon!)
A reference copy is available at the TATE Library at TATE Britain: http://www.tate.org.uk/research/library/online-library-catalogue
Search for it by title on the Library Catalogue.
