Inspired by a visit to the shop and studio of a spinner who introduced me to North Ronaldsay yarn. The stitch used in this scarf is called 'Cat's Paw' and was traditionally used by the young women of the Shetland Isles to knit scarves for selling. The girls would take their knitting everywhere with them including while walking.
