Spring is almost here. We're thinking of Easter, Mothers' Day, St David's Day. This brooch depicts new leaf buds on the trees, spring meadows beneath a lovely blue sky - and daffodils. Embroidered with threads in the 'background' nd using ribbon embroidery techniques for those in the foreground. I'm really pleased with this one - I hope you like it!
The brooch has been hand-appliqueed and embroidered. A strip of crochet, the yarns changing as necessary to blend with the design, is used to neaten the edge. The shape is reinforced with recycled plastic from a bottle. Felt is used to neaten the back.
Please note: the brooch pin will be securely stitched in place before despatch. I was impatient to do the photos!
