I've always been fascinated by the way people interact and 'play' with the jewellery that they wear, usually when they are 'thinking deeply' or having a bit of a daydream!
I'm also really interested in mechanical engineering and the way things 'work', so the two have been linked together in my kinetic designs, to form unusual and, sometimes, intriguing jewels.

Full description
A contemporary design from my kinetic collection that’s small in size but big on interaction! The gemstone disc spins around freely within its Sterling Silver frame.
Each pendant is handmade using traditional silversmithing techniques and features a Hematite disc which spins freely on its central axis. The central frame is constructed from 1.5mm square Sterling Silver wire. Each frame is made to fit around the specific gemstone disc, then the disc and central spindle are fixed into the frame using ‘blind rivets’, which is a technique that allows the fixing to become invisible once the piece is assembled.
This is a very sleek and wearable minimalist design. The overall pendant length is 20mm (0.75 inch) approx., and the disc is 10mm (almost 0.5 inch). Supplied on a 40cm (16 inch) sterling silver snake chain and presented in a Claire Wood Designer Jewellery gift box.
