Full description
A needle-felted panel has been embroidered with a simple daisy design. The background felt has been built up from a number of fibre layers, the top two of which are hand dyed silk. The effect is a lovely deep blend of colours with a beautiful lustrous finish.
Merino, and other wools, combined with mohair and silk fibres, have been needle felted to create the background for this barrette. Several layers of differing and contrastting shades, have been built up on a base fabric, giving a depth of colour to the design. The final two layers are silk fibres. Tapestry wools, in shades closely matching those in the felt, have been used to edge the barrette in blanket stitch and embroider a simple daisy motif, scattered at random across the barrette. The embroidery has been chosen to enhance the felt which is a feature of this item.
The back of the barrette is neatened with commercial felt and a standard hair clip is securely stitched in place.
