As I only had one skein of the gloriously soft, gently flecked with colour, silk yarn used in this brooch I decided to mix it with the bamboo mix yarn to produce my 'Snow Flower' Brooch.
In my experience, when it snows the sky often takes on a slightly coloured hue, which seems to depend on many things such as where you are, the time of day etc and these differences lead to slightly different tints of colour.
The way the colour appears on these corsages reminds me of those differing hues.

Full description
This item has been made from a crochet pattern of my own design as a 6 petal double layer flower with a beautiful striped blonde wooden button at the centre to finish. The second layer of petals are offset slightly which creates an overall circular appearance to this brooch/corsage design.
The yarn used is a mixture of:
* 100% silk, hand dyed and fleck with shades of pink and purple.
* Sirdar Baby Bamboo in an ivory shade ( 80% bamboo sourced viscose and 20% wool )
Bamboo is a sustainable and renewable resource which produces super soft yarn that feels almost like silk.
As the silk yarn was hand dyed the colour dispersion may vary from brooch to brooch. This adds uniqueness to each brooch to make each one of a kind.
Just so you know, if purchased the brooch you receive may not be the one pictured.
The subtly striped buttons used are wooden and as they are a natural product there is some colour/stripe variation to each. This helps to enhance the individuality of each brooch. As mentioned above the brooch purchased may not be the one pictured.
This beautiful brooch would look beautiful pinned to your winter hat or scarf as a snowy little emblem. The mixture of silk and baby bamboo yarn make it lovely and tactile, with a subtle sheen which softly catches the light.
It would make a lovely present for someone - or even for yourself!
At its widest point the brooch is approximately 7cm/ 3 inches.
It is finished on the back with a 1 and 1/4 inch silver toned safety rolling catch bar pin - please note the brooch back was electroplated with a composite nickle-silver alloy.
