Full description
A winter arrangement of holly leaves, and berries, and other evergreen foliage, is embroidered onto the knitted background of this brooch.
The background for this embroidery is hand knitted in a vintage, flecked yarn in mustard with flecks of primary colours. Moss stitch has been chosen to add texture to the design. The holly arrangement is embroidered, in simple stitches, using tapestry wools and crochet cotton. The design is framed by a row of couching over a fancy yarn of mixed greens and creams.
The back of the design is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
