Full description

"Rizzo" Falkland spinning or felting fibre. Shropshire fibre grown in the Falkland Isles is known for its natural warmth, soft handle, is very easy to spin and next to the skin soft. Perfect for all types of garments from accessories, jumpers, cardigans, household objects etc. Suitable for all hand spinning and felting techniques, plus many more craft applications.

Approx 110g of luxury, one continuous length delivered as a chain braid with a small little silver heart charm keepsake attached as a thank you for choosing our fibres.

Naturally dyed then hand painted with layering techniques using a range of natural dyes developed from an unusual combination of ingredients in our kitchen and garden : dried flower heads, crushed fresh herbs, vegetables, various roots, forest or woodland finds and other unusual ingredients giving beautiful tones and gorgeous hues throughout, one of a kind blends are created by my own speciality method of dyeing which takes ten days to over one month to achieve, all are completely unique one of a kind fibres impossible to repeat.

Extremely challenging to photograph, all pictures are taken in natural daylight but it is still impossible to capture the true beauty of each length of fibre in a photo, there are lots of hues and variation throughout so these really must be seen and handled to be truly appreciated as the photos simply do not do the fibre justice.

All computer monitors or laptop screens display colours differently, I have done my best to give a true representation of the colours so please keep in mind that your screen may be displaying the tones slightly differently to mine.

Only natural dyes produced directly from locally grown plants, bushes, trees, flowers, herbs, spices, roots and other items usually found on the grocery aisle of the supermarket are used in our designs, no harsh chemicals or irritants are in any of our items so they are kind to your delicate skin and our environment. Dye matter is gifted back to the earth and turned into compost to use in our garden to enrich the plants used to produce our natural dyes.

Everything is colourfast and has been washed of main dye residue, however, it is advisable to wash your finished item once by itself just in case there is a small trace amount of dye excess left in the fibre. Store out of direct sunlight.
