A tree, reminiscent of a rowan with berries, adorns the boundary of a ploughed field, with a warm winter sun in the background.
The sky is 'unravelled' from a loosely spun, soft, pure wool, randomly died in shades of gray and pale blue. The trees, hedges and fences are embroidered. Scraps of appliqueed fabric form the sun and fields. The foreground is a ploughed field very well represented by the texture of the chosen fabric.
The brooch has been stiffened by plastic cut from a recycled bottle. The edge of the design is framed by crocheted braid in shades of gray and brown, to compliment the design. The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
