Welcome to my Folksy shop in which you will find a variety of hand-stitched accessories for you and your home, many of which make lovely (and easy-to-post) gifts. I stitch in a variety of styles, combining traditional embroidery with other textile techniques such as felting, weaving, hand dyeing and silk painting. Vintage linens and fabrics re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
Daisies, clover, buttercups, and yarrow are set against the hand-felted, meadow background of this embroidered brooch.
The flowers are stitched in embroidery thread. Distant daisies, cornflowers and buttercups are represented by French knots. Naturally dyed merino and mohair fibres are combined in the hand-made felt which forms the background to this brooch.
The brooch is stiffened with plastic cut from a recycled bottle. A space-dyed, loosely spun wool, in shades of green and purples, is bound round the edge of the brooch to frame the design.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Height - 6 cm approx.
I am very happy to send items overseas using Airmail. However, please note that due to insurance issues, I am unfortunately not able to mail to USA or Canada.
