Full description
Loose silk scraps (to my knowledge all pure silk) cut / torn into ribbons. Many different types of silk (e.g. dupion, habatai, sari, etc) different weights, some are patterned most are plain. Some truly gorgeous silk scraps here!
I have sorted these ribbons into similar colour groups. The photos show the pile that each pack has been selected from - each pack is a lucky dip.
Length of strips usually between 3ft & 4.5ft
Width of strips varies, most are between 1 & 2 inches, but some are as little as 5mm or as wide as 4 inches.
Number of ribbons per pack varies, due to differing weight of fabrics. They average 7 to 11 ribbons per pack (I can not guarantee how many will be in - but it will weigh 50g)
These scraps will be fantastic for embroiderers, & perfect for stumpworking!
I am a felter & use silk ribbons in my work; most of these are too heavy for felting in, but frayed/shredded the threads are gorgeous felted in!
Just a few other uses I can think of off the top of my head; peg loom/weaving, scrap booking, collage, cloth dolls - hair & clothing... the list could go on.
