Full description
Bright and bold cineraria flowers are embroidered in tapestry wools, against a hand knitted and felted background, to form this pretty brooch.
The background has been knitted in a mohair yarn in shades of purple and magenta and then fulled, or felted, to give a closer texture, This knitted background has then been machine basted to a thick wool fabric. The flowers have been embroidered using a combination of French knots and blanket stitch. The design is framed with a row of couching over a chenille yarn.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooh pin is securely stitched in place.
