Full description
Wild roses, embroidered in ribbons and embroidery threads, from the basis of this design.
The roses have been stitched onto a hand felted background, of merino, mohair and silk fibres. The roses in the foreground are stitched in silk ribbon, with those in the background being stitched in thread to give depth to the design. The plaque is formed by stretching the design over a recycled plastic bottle top. The back is neatened with commercial felt. Couching over a yarn in blues and heathers, frames the design. The 'tail' of the bookmark is a length of blue ribbon.
