Full description
A beautifully tactile item - knitted in a soft pouch shape, felted (or 'fulled') to give body and stability and finished with a lovely, chunky, wooden vintage button and embroidery detail on the flap.
The yarn is a pure wool in a flecked 'tweed' effect. The main colours are a soft mushroom brown and cream with flecks of apricot and lime green. The daisies are hand embroidered in tapestry wools, in coordinating shades of brown and apricot. The main body of the bag is lined with beige fabric. The inside of the flap is partially backed with a toning felt to neaten the reverse of the embroidery. The straps are formed from one long plait, constructed from three crocheted braids in the same yarn as the main body of the bag. The plait is then stitched in place across the top of the front of the open bag, the ends are then crossed over each other and fastened in place at the base of the flap (each on the opposite side of the bag) to give double handles. The bag closes with a loop over a button. The loop is crocheted in a coordinating yarn.
