In these difficult times, I continue to work from home. I am only selling items which can be posted via the Post Box which is just outside my gate. I have a stock of stamps and packaging materials and, therefore, can stay open for business without imposing extra risk on other individuals. As usual, vintage linens and fabrics, re-stitched into unique gifts and accessories, may be found at my second Folksy shop 'LynwoodcraftsRecycled' where you will also find vintage sewing supplies including vintage lace.
AS my thoughts turn to spring and summer I would like my shop to reflect this theme. My few remaining winter-themed items have, therefore, been reduced.
Ivy leaves are embroidered in ribbons against the textured background.
The background has been knitted in a mohair yarn, then fulled, or felted, to give a closer texture. This knitted background has then been machine basted to a thick wool fabric. The leaves are embroidered in ribbon, enhanced with stitching in embroiderey thread and metallic gold thread to represent the veins. The tendrils are stitched in embroidery thread and highlighted with gold thread. The design is framed with a row of couching over pure wool, tweed yarn, accentuating the colours of the background.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooh pin is securely stitched in place.
