Full description
A scene of greyness, fields, sky and trees, but with lots of interest from the vivid green ivy tendrils in the foreground and the holly and hawthorn berries in the hedge.
This scene has been hand appliqueed, from scraps of gray fabric. Distant trees, fence, and hedge are stitched in a mixture of threads. The ivy leaves are stitched in a combination of ribbon, wool and cotton thread.
The back of the brooch is neatened with commercial felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Dimensions:
Width - 7 cm approx.
The brooch is stiffened with plastic cut from a recycled bottle. The design is framed with two rows of couching, stitched over two knitting ribbons twisted together, with a touch of metallic 'pewter'.
