This print was inspired by Imbolc, the point in the year where winter begins to loosen and the first signs of growth appear. I was drawn to the snowdrop for its quiet strength and for the way it carries so much unseen work beneath the surface. This piece is about preparation rather than arrival — clearing space and trusting what is beginning to grow.

Full description
This original lino print was created as part of my seasonal art practice, marking moments in the turning year through simple, hand-made images.
Imbolc falls midway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox and is traditionally a time of clearing, preparation and quiet beginnings. I was drawn to the snowdrop for this piece not only for its flower, but for the whole plant — bulb, roots and all — honouring the unseen work happening beneath the surface.
Each print has been hand-pulled from a carved lino block using a single deep green ink and printed onto 200gsm cream cartridge paper. Small variations in ink and texture are part of the handmade process and give each print its individual character.
This is a limited edition of 16. Each print is titled and numbered in pencil on the front and stamped on the reverse with my details.
The print is supplied unframed and unmounted, ready for you to frame or display in your own way.
