Full description

This is a handmade sewing box, made in the exploding box style. The ribbon is removed, the lid lifted, and the sides fall down to reveal the contents in numerous pockets in 2 layers. At the centre is a removable square pin cushion.

The box is made from dark dusky pink cotton velvet with sewn red embossed metal panels. It is lined in rust red satin shot with forest green. The edges are raw hemmed with contrast zigzag stitching to give a distressed look. It is tied with a ruby red ribbon.

This is a squidgy, tactile case - if you want something rigid and formal this is not the box for you! Sides approx 3 1/2 inches square.

Suitable as a sewing box or jewellery case (pincushion could be used for brooches). It would look lovely on a dresser.
