Ahh... jelly babies...
When I was little, I used to live really close to an old sweet factory. Aside from the fact that my walk to school occasionally smelt of chocolate limes, all of the kids in the area used to wait for the yearly carnival when the factory would put on the best carnival float ever. We would go armed with carrier bags and bring the sweets that they would hurl from the lorry into the crowd, which usually consisted of chocolate limes, more Turkish delight than was possible to eat and bags and bags of jelly babies (sometimes with amusing mutations). The factory site now has luxury flats and a retail park on it and I don’t think they are allowed to hurl sweets into the crowd any more (*sniff*) but even now jelly babies (and chocolate limes) always make me think of home.
Standing just shy of half the size of your average edible little fella, these little sweeties come in pairs as a set of five flavours – one for each of your five a day (as shown). Each one is hung on identical silver coloured ear wires so you can mix and match to them your heart’s content if you feel like quietly rebelling against symmetrical sweetness.
