Full description
This colourful little blossom was inspired by Christmas. I didn't know which sort of flower to make so I tried to think of things that reminded me of my own Christmas traditions. The thing that kept coming to mind was walking up and down Candy Cane lane in Edmonton Canada to look at the Christmas lights. It's a magical place and so inspired the colours of this blossom.
There are 3 different french beading technics used to make this piece. The 6 green leaves and 6 outer petals are scalloped to create their unique shape. The inside of the bloom is created by various looping technics and the vine leaves in a traditional french beading leaf style. Mixed together they create an eclectic look for this one of a kind candy cane bloom.
The piece is set in a low English Pewter jug and surrounded by a moss finish. The bloom measures about 3" across and the jug about 6.5" at it's widest point. The piece stands about 4.5" high.
