Full description
Herring fishing was once the main industry in the village where I live, on the shores of Loch Fyne, Argyll. This wee copper brooch is a tribute to that history. It is 30 mm long and 24 mm wide and contains 2 wee copper fish swimming in sterling silver etched waves, on a background of beautiful irridescent blue shell with a tiny moon shining down on them. The scene is set in clear cold enamel to protect and enhance. I have tried to show photographs taken in different light to show how it shimmers just like the herring. A copper brooch pin with safety catch is attached to the back.
