These drop spindles are made from sustainably sourced woods and are made so that the whorls are detachable. They can be added together to adjust the weight according to the yarn that is being spun. The shaft can be used without any whorl if spinning a very fine thread. They are finished by sanding to a polished surface with no actual polish as the yarn will provide that through it's natural oils. The spindle is 25cm long and each whorl is a different weight. As the whorl is dropped it will lodge on the slightly tapered shaft and then on each previous whorl giving a solid spin They come as in the image with 2 whorls but can be provided with more or less if required adjust price accordingly by $4 (£2.50 in UK)for each spindle. I can also provide with a fixed whorl if require. I am reliably informed that they are an excellent way of striking up conversations by producing them from your handbag and spinning yarn in a public place such as a doctors waiting room or on a bus.
