Gorgeous, lustrous Pearl earrings featuring a 6-8mm freshwater potato pearl in a delicate, light, silver/grey peacock colour that are dainty, lightweight and easy to wear.
The potato pearls are topped with a trio of 4mm silver/grey shell pearls.
Potato Pearls are not-quite-round, and have slight surface irregularities. These ones have a silver-grey main colour, with overtones of iridescent 'peacock' colours - hints of green, blue, bronze and purple.
Shell Pearls are man-made by building layers of nacre, the same material that makes natural pearls, over an inner core, and are considered the best replicas you can get.
They have a lovely, glowing, satin sheen and delicate colour.
The pearls are threaded onto sterling silver wire and hung from sterling silver ear-wires that are stamped '925'.
Pearls have been used by man for over 4000 years - the earliest written mention of natural pearls was recorded by a Chinese historian in 2206 BC.
In ancient Vedic texts, the pearl is born of Earth's waters and Heaven's powers, fertilised by a flash of lightening.
The pearl is the birthstone for June and the stone for the 30th wedding anniversary.
It's association with purity also make it popular in bridal jewellery.
Handmade in my home workshop here in beautiful Devon in the UK, these Pearl earrings would be ideal as a gift for a June birthday, 30th wedding anniversary, bridesmaid, or as a treat for yourself.
These drop earrings measure approximately 1 inch (2.5cm) excluding the wires.
Your earrings will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within mainland UK.
