The garden is awaking.
A joyful celebration of the natural world, filled with layers of delicate stems, foliage and flashes of turquoise and violet. Silhouetted birds appear amongst the abundant growth, capturing that magical moment when the garden begins to stir and the morning fills with birdsong. The day is bright, uplifting and full of the promise.
An original mixed-media artwork, created through layers of colour, texture and expressive mark-making.
Wild Places is a collection of eight small, original mixed-media paintings inspired by the colours, textures and tangled beauty of the natural world.
These are not paintings of particular places or plants, but imagined landscapes that have evolved through layers of paint, texture and intuitive mark-making. Leaves, stems, seed heads and birds emerge and disappear amongst the layers, creating glimpses of places that feel both familiar and imagined.
From the freshness of morning to the stillness of a garden after dark, each piece has its own atmosphere and story. Together, they celebrate the unruly beauty of nature - the unexpected colours, overlapping shapes and wonderful tangles that appear when things are allowed to grow a little wild.
Each image is a unique original and is presented in a 7-inch square mount, ready to frame.
