Welcome to Strength in Stitches!
I create handmade crochet pieces for little ones and grown-ups, including beautiful baby blankets, cosy lapghans, baby clothes and my much-loved hexagon cardigans, available from baby sizes through to plus-size adult.
Granny stitch is one of my favourite ways to relax, whether I'm working on a cosy hexagon cardigan or a granny square blanket. I love watching simple stitches grow into something beautiful, whether the blanket is worked in the round or made from individual squares.
I'm also branching out into adult jumpers and cardigans, so there's lots more to come as I continue creating and exploring new stitches and designs.
Every piece is handmade with care, patience and plenty of love.

Handmade Crochet Shell Stitch Baby Blanket – Custom Colours
A beautiful handmade crochet baby blanket, created using a pretty shell stitch pattern worked in the round.
This blanket is made to order, allowing you to choose your own colour combination from 1 to 6 colours, making your blanket completely your own.
The multicoloured blanket shown in the photographs is an example of the finished design. Your blanket will be made using the colours you select.
Size
Approx. 90 by 90 cm
This is a lovely size for a baby blanket, suitable for cuddling up with, using in a pram or keeping nearby for those cosy moments.
Larger sizes are also available. Please see the other size options or contact me if you would like a blanket made to fit a UK double or king-size bed.
Colours
Choose between 1 and 6 colours
After ordering, I will contact you to confirm your chosen colours before I begin making your blanket. This gives us the opportunity to make sure we're both happy with the colour combination before work starts.
Made to order
Each blanket is handmade individually, so please allow approximately 7–10 days for making once your colours have been confirmed.
Because every blanket is handmade, there may be very slight variations in size and appearance. This is part of the charm of a handmade item.
Yarn
I use quality baby yarn selected with the needs of a baby blanket in mind.
Care
Please follow the care instructions supplied with your blanket to help keep it looking beautiful and cosy for years to come.
