Full description
A splash of colour, a whisper of the jungle...
Emerald Dream is an original acrylic and oil painting inspired by the extraordinary colours and character of tropical birds.
Perched quietly upon a branch, this beautifully expressive parrot emerges from a deep, atmospheric woodland of rich greens and shadowy tones. His vibrant feathers glow with emerald green, turquoise, brilliant blue and flashes of warm red, creating a striking contrast against the darker background.
I wanted to capture something of the exotic beauty and playful personality of these magnificent birds, while giving the painting an almost dreamlike, enchanted quality.
The artwork has been created on a hand-stretched canvas, using multiple layers of high-quality oil paint. The layers of colour and expressive brushwork build depth, richness and texture throughout the painting, allowing the bright feathers to really come alive.
The painting has been finished with a protective varnish to enhance the colours and help preserve the artwork for years to come.
D-rings are securely fitted to the back, so the painting is ready to hang and enjoy straight away.
