Inspired by the Romany heritage of my grandfather, this original hand-painted artwork celebrates the decorative beauty and cosy warmth of traditional horse-drawn wagons.
The title, In a Field, Somewhere, is a nod to a family story: my grandfather was born in a field, and this painting imagines a peaceful moment from a way of life that has long fascinated me.
Painted in rich earthy tones, the scene depicts a traditional vardo in a field of summer flowers. Decorative painted details, inspired by those found on historic wagons, add character and nostalgia to the piece.
Hand-painted on canvas board using acrylic paints, this artwork is designed to evoke a slower pace of life and the warmth of home, wherever it may be.
Presented unframed and ready to display on a small easel or shelf.
