Full description
Fused glass suncatcher featuring 4 colourful butterflies. Simple in its design, but shows of the glass beautifully.
This piece measures approximately 15 cm by 4 cm and is hung by ivory satin ribbon looped through a hole at the top of the piece.
This was made on a background panel of clear glass and then the details hand cut and individually placed to create the butterflies. The bodies are made up of small beads and the wings hand cut pieces of art glass. This is all then fused together at a tack fuse leaving the piece slighted rounded but maintaining a tactile raised surface. This catches the light, creating an interesting and beautiful piece that looks great either in a window or on a wall.
The piece has then been cold worked using a handheld diamond pad to ensure there are no sharp edges, the hole drilled in the top and the satin ribbon threaded through.
